Frankenstein
A scientist assembles and animates a living being, then confronts the consequences of his creation.
Transplants and bioengineering change lives, but constructing and reviving a person from dead parts remains fiction. Animal cloning is a different, limited biological process.

What exists today
Researchers grow organoids: miniature tissue models used to study disease and test biological hypotheses. Experimental transplants have also explored kidneys from genetically modified pigs. Both show how far work with living tissue has progressed.
Where fiction goes further
An organoid is not a complete, fully functioning human organ. Neither organoid culture nor transplantation can assemble a person from body parts and restore them to life as Victor does.
Why it matters
For me, the lasting question is responsibility: capability does not remove the obligation to care for the beings and people affected by an experiment.
